Pro Patrimonio Romania is part of a draft proposal entitled QuEst which was submitted for the European Commnission evaluation. The main applicant is UNITER and a cooperation agreement was signed between six cultural operators from Romania, Germany and Fance. The project is a continuation of the experience gained by UNITER with “ Memoire des passeurs ” implemented on the Santiago de Compostela great pilgrimage of medieval Europe and financed by Culture 2000 programme within the framework 2003, most of the peopled involved decided to create a follow up in Romania (in the Saxon area). The initiative group consisting in UNITER, Pro Patrimonio and Medias City Hall organized in August 2004 a pilot project Vestigium – Memoire des passeurs in four Saxon cities: Brasov, Sighisoara, Medias and Sibiu.

It was a successful performance itinerary focused on the awareness of the historical heritage. The experiences will be continued in QuEst project.

The QuEst project aims to promote the dialogue and mutual knowledge of European cultures stressing the cultural diversity within the common European heritage using not only description, but also in the context of explanation and understanding through performing arts.

The innovative and experimental aspect of QuEst project consists mostly in the encouraging the emergence and spread of new forms of expression, within and alongside traditional cultural fields, such as performing arts, photography and cultural heritage including the cultural landscape and children's culture. Also, the project will facilitate the access to culture and wider cultural participation, in all their regional and cultural diversity, in particular for the young people. New technologies of virtual reconstruction (3D) will be used for promoting historic buildings.
